I've never understood the concept of theft- I'm assuming the items were taking for drug money. Something else I don't understand- drugs! What is our world coming to? Are there too few of us left that actually care? I do wonder, what is becoming of this world we live in? After all, it's all in a Mom's day, right?

OK~ It's obvious that I have gotten up on the wrong side of the bed the past few days. Thursday, sitting at red light, stopped, get rear ended! The week-end seemed to be going really well until we go camping and 18 year old son stays home and invites four people over........Well, then five other people (obvious thugs) show up. Who then return after 18 year old leaves and steal his tv, ipod touch, PS 3 and digital camera. I am really, really tired of all of these drug infested people in this town that we live by. We live in the country and these five in this BEAUTIFUL WHITE CADILLAC would have no idea how to find our home. New locks, you name it, this place is battened down tight now! After all, it's all in a Mom's day, right?

OK~ The day starts out OK- dark, black skies to the West, but looks ok. Blaine is scheduled to be at 9:00 a.m. to enroll in Fall classes at NIACC. Should be a 3-4 hour ordeal. I left it up to him if he wanted me to accompany him. Well, with all of the hoops these recent high school graduates need to jump through, I totally understand why some young adults say "forget it!" Enrolling at a college is a tedious process. It really tests the time and patience of young adults, and parents as well. We patiently wait our turn- of course, "they" forgot about us. After a longer than usual wait, he is officially enrolled. I do pray he will be on the two year term for an AA degree, as opposed to the three year program for a two year degree- fingers crossed!
Due to the stormy looking skies when we left home, we hopped in the 1993 Taurus. Nobody told me to not remove the key from the ignition. That's what I did! When we went to leave NIACC, I could not get the key in the ignition to start the car. After many frustrating moments and words, I broke down and called Todd. Of course he's awake, but only for a few minutes more. He agrees to come and rescue us. He arrives and I get the lecture of, "NEVER TAKE THAT KEY OUT!" OK......I WON'T...I PROMISE.......Car starts after a few maneuvers and the key did not break. I was afraid the key was going to break off when I was trying to start the car.
We then headed home and I pondered to myself, "Why do I take this car?" This is the same car that I took to Boy Scout camp exactly one year ago. That was the time when I had all of my gear in the trunk of the car and NO KEY to get in the trunk! I trained 6 Boy Scouts rather quickly in how to break into the trunk of a car. They removed the back seat and VOILA- my gear and all! After all, it's all in a Mom's day, right?

Ok~ Summer has officially arrived in Iowa! It's almost 8:00 p.m. and it's still hovering around 90 degrees and very high humidity-I AM NOT going to complain. Now, to keep the storms at bay and enjoy this beautiful, HOT weather! After all, it's all in a Mom's day, right?

Not sure if Garrett is going to make it through the summer without going nuts! We seem to have rain- each and every day..........I truly believe he misses school- for a kid that hated getting up in the morning to get to school, he really misses it! Maybe once the calendar officially says summer, we will be able to head out side and enjoy the great outdoors. The bright side of things, it's not snow! After all, it's all in a Mom's day, right?

Ok~ The kids are out of school and the calendar says June, summertime, right? WRONG....Especially if you reside in the Mid-West, as I do. I believe on Monday it was a whoppin' 57 degrees and rainy. I'm thinking our local aquatic center is not in for a profitable summer. Here, in Iowa, our kids go back to school around August 19th. By then we may have some summertime heat, which will be just in time for the kids to go back to non air conditioned buildings.
My 14 year old has been busy helping at Nature Camp this week through our local Parks & Recreation Department. He has also been scooping soybeans for his Uncle in the afternoons AND tonight his little 5 & 6 year old t-ball team had a game. Guess what? He's actually tired! I asked him if he enjoyed last Thursday and Friday more than the last couple days, he replied ,"I like being busy & I like being bored!" Interesting thought.........After all, it's all in a Mom's day, right?

OK~ I don't use coupons at Wal-Mart on a regular basis, BUT today I did! I wonder if the person behind me knew what I did. I went through the self check-out and had a coupon for my purchase. Well, like an idiot, I did not scan it! Instead I analyzed the crazy thing and saw the "place coupon here" sign. I then tried to "fit" it into the coupon slot and wait for a chhhh chhinnng -$1.00.
Never came. Then it hit me, "You idiot, you didn't scan it!" I then tried to peer into the slot that I placed the coupon in, not sure what I was looking for, but there was no sign of it. I wonder what the man waiting in line thought of me. Well, after all, its' all in a Mom's day, right?
