What a day-------

OK~ Busy day here! It starts last evening, as I realize Blaine has rescheduled his dermatology appt. 1 hr. and 10 min. AFTER he is scheduled to have his wisdom teeth removed (4 of them). Well, he NEEDS to see the dermatologist, and for those of you that know Dr. Plank- he's hard to get to see. SOOOO- I called the dermatologist office this morning and explained our scenario- Well, he could not be seen until next week BUT needs meds NOW.....So, we head to the oral surgeon and have four teeth removed. Upon exiting the office with a large gauze strip dangling from his mouth, we are now on our way to the dermatologist! I had forewarned them in the office that we may look a little interesting as we enter the office. Well, we did have some people staring at us! Blaine was a little unsteady but we made it back. When Dr. Plank entered the room, yes the bloody gauze was still hanging from his mouth, he looked at me like, "What are you doing dragging him here?" Well, I explained our situation and he then understood why I had insisted we head over there after the oral surgeon. He did agree that I can probably now label myself the meanest Mom in the world! Thank God the nurse was kind enough to come into the exam room to schedule the next appointment and accept my payment! And, she was even kind enough to show us the back door! After all, it's all in a Mom's day, right?

I'm an aunt again!

OK~ Mara Marie arrived on July 23rd, 2009- she is beautiful! All 6 lbs. 8 oz. of her. I do wonder how big brother Jadon will handle this. All of his three years of knowledge will be sure to challenge Mom with a new baby in the house. I do recall when Garrett came home from the hospital, as a newborn. Big Brother Blaine decided to sit on him! I should have known that was an indication of the chaos of parenting two young boys to come! After all, it's all in a Mom's day, right?

Awaiting the arrival of a baby~

OK~ What an exciting time! We are all anxiously awaiting the arrival of a new baby niece/cousin. Babies are so special and if you think about it- a true miracle! After all, it's all in a Mom's day, right?

Is this Summer?

OK~ Here we are July 17, 2009- in Iowa (where else?). We DID NOT even break the 65 degree mark- We actually had a wind chill, yes folks, I said WIND CHILL IN JULY! Our wind chill reading during the day hovered around 55 degrees. I think these people that have spent MILLIONS OF DOLLARS on global warming need to rethink- it's definitely GLOBAL COOLING! After all, it's all in a Mom's day, right?

Interesting day on the lawn mower

OK~ Boys and I were working away to get the lawn in tip top shape (literally), as I found myself almost tip top off the lawnmower. I was mowing the ditch and I had to bail off of the mower, as it was starting to flip! It took both boys and me (I touched the mower as they pushed) to get the mower to level terrain. Then it died. Would not start. Off to get Garrett who hooked the jump start thing up - OK- we're now off! 4 minutes later, I kid you not- spit, spit, sputter.....NO GAS.........
Blaine is now toodling along on the other mower doing a great job, oblivious to me just sitting. I holler for Garrett to bring the gas can. Well, after three incidents within 10 minutes I was able to complete my (now) little patch of mowing. Blaine had completed the rest of it......He kept on mowing as I sat pondering my next move- After all, it's all in a Mom's day, right?

This is how this Mom knows it's 2009!

OK~ I am sitting on couch in living room, Garrett is lounging on couch in family room. Surprise, surprise, both of us are surfing on FACEBOOK. My little chat window opens- Ohhhh, an invite to chat with Garrett. I click on it: I am HUNGRY! WE are not sitting more than 15 feet away from each other------After all, it's all in a Mom's day, right?

Cedar Point- Sandusky, Ohio

OK~ Back home again, 1,345 miles in 3 days..........Left home 9:30 a.m. on Monday and back home 2:30 p.m., Wednesday. Literally made a quick road trip to Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. And of course, an unplanned detour into Chicago, as one of the kids said, "I'd like to go up in the tower." So, I-55, Exit it was! If you are a roller coaster enthusiast, you must go! This link is worth checking out. I braved this one........The Millennium Force tops out at 93 mph- It was smooth and FAST!!!!!!!!! Loved it............After all, it's all in a Mom's day, right?

Short family road trip

OK~ Are the best family vacations the ones that you toss together the last minute? Well, this is one of them. Left home yesterday, 9:30 a.m- hit the Sears Tower (not a planned stop) in the afternoon. Spent today at Cedar Point. Now, in the car, on the way back home. Need to be home tomorrow afternoon due to a teen's work schedule................Cedar Point rocks, if you have never been, you SHOULD go. Although the route back to the Ohio Turnpike was bumpy due to an unrelaible IPHONE GPS system. We did experience awesome pizza in Clyde, Ohio Thanks to that little mix up. We are on the road again, headed back to Iowa- Ohio treated us well. After all it's all in a Mom's day, right?
