OK~ I'm reminiscing about that good old holiday called Halloween! With a 14 year old and 18 year old, the times are a changing. I can honestly say we were able to get 8 years out of a Batman Costume! I'd say that was a pretty good investment. One of those Batman years was truly a Halloween evening to remember. Huey had recently moved into our home- Huey was the first of many four legged caged animals that have resided at the Broers household.
Well, 5 year old Garrett decided he should take his older brother's hamster out of the cage and hug him. He did~ he literally hugged Huey to death. I glanced over at him and he had this hamster, appearing somewhat hung over, hanging from his hands.
Next thing, I hear his 9 year old brother screaming, "Why did you kill Huey?" Wait, it gets even better. Knock, Knock. What? Somebody is now knocking on the door. Todd opens the door, "Your dog just got hit by a car in the street." Chester had strayed out of the yard, into the street- We now had Halloween Eve, one dead hamster, and one injured dog! Boy, that's one Halloween I care to never repeat and haven't since!
After all, it's all in a Mom's Day, Right?
