Teenagers in 2009

OK~ Here we are in the year 2009! My boys seem to think that this Mom is one OLD lady. I'm thinking of some of the great inventions that I enjoyed as a child- and my kids would think are the most obsolete items on the planet!

  • Telephone with a long, curly cord
  • Black and white television set (Can you even by one of those today?)
  • My doll Drowsy (she was pink with white spots)
  • A Big Wheel
  • McDonald's hamburger
  • Ben Franklin (the store)
  • Viewfinder
  • Odyssey gaming system
  • A true Boom Box
  • Jelly shoes
Thinking back, these were good old days- sometimes I wish we could go back to leading a plain and simple life! When things are simple, we tend to enjoy each other and really take in what we see and do each day. Oh, and one other thing that probably hasn't changed- Me: Can I have a hug? Son: What? Boys don't hug their Moms! Ok, this Mom gets the picture! After all, it's all in a Mom's Day, Right?

  1. I'll go back in time for any of those things... EXCEPT the phone with a cord. How did we ever manage talking while attached to a wall!

Happy Friday! Hope you have a great weekend!

  2. I was just talking to my mom yesterday about our old phone with the super long cord that could reach all sorts of places! LOL!

We actually have a Ben Franklins in our little town. I have only been in it a couple times, but if I had a car or lived closer to town, I would probably go more often. It has all sorts of neat stuff in there! :-)

  3. I remember when there used to be lots of Ben Franklins and now you can hardly find one.
