Vacuums & Sears~ Gotta love it!

OK~ I was cruising through Sears the other day and recalled the day that my three year old son (at the time) and I were booted out of the vacuum cleaner department! Yep, you understood me correctly, we were asked to leave the store! My son was obsessed with vacuum cleaners at this point in his life. He LOVED to look and vacuum cleaners and LOVED them even more in action. Well, we were cruising through Sears and a lady was demonstrating a vacuum cleaner to a customer. Of course my son was intrigued. We stood and watched, and watched, and watched! We were watching, not anything else, just watching. But, of course his eyes were beaming and he did jump up and down a few times!

The lady giving the demonstration did not have any empathy for myself or my son. After a few minutes the vacuum cleaner demonstrator approached me and said, "Mam, your son is being a distraction and you need to remove him from the store!" I was furious! I took my son by his hand and we left Sears. Needless to say, this Mom did not return to Sears for a couple years- Too bad- all of those holiday photos were purchased elsewhere and that lone appliance that was needed over the next couple years was purchased elsewhere. Well, too bad my frustration with the circumstance eased over the years, as I returned 14 years later to purchase a washing machine that I despise! That's a whole other blog post in itself! After all, it's all in a Mom's Day, Right?

  1. Hi Sara!! Thanks for visiting my blog. You have a great blog yourself!! Kicked you out for him being excited?! I can hold a grudge for EVER--so knowing me I would have never, ever, ever gone back to Sears.

  2. I obviously did not hold a long enough grudge, as I was pretty darn mad at the time!

  3. some people have to be like 'kid-haters'. How can you blame a little kid for being excited about something like that? She just didn't like that people were looking at your son and not her. Yeah, I would have been way mad.

I always love feedback on my blog!
