Here comes Thanksgiving!

OK~ Turkey day, or Thanksgiving as we know it, is just around the corner. As I was strolling through the aisle in the grocery store this evening, I was reminded of the year that I kind forgot to thaw the turkey....Well, I struggled with that slippery bird. Due to the fact that I had cooked the liver, gizzards, and whatever was "in" the turkey the year before, I knew that I needed to remove that "stuff." Well, let me tell you how I did it! I found the biggest knife that I had in the utensil drawer. I then began to saw away at the slimy thing. As I was sawing, I noticed the knife handle begin to tilt. Voila, I now had a knife handle in my hand and the blade stuck in the turkey!

We ended up eating the turkey the next day- so much for a turkey dinner on Thanksgiving. So, I'm a thinking that this Mom has learned how to get ready for the big Thursday! Buy a fresh turkey the day before, therefore; no large knives will be needed! After all, it's all in a Mom's Day, Right?

  3. This made me laugh, my husband and I want to try to cook a turkey dinner all on our own for the first time (we just got married in October). He is a very talented cook and never fails at anything he does, but I'm a bit worried about this one!! Wish us luck!

  5. That's a great story, but I am sure not funny at the time. Reminds me of the show Friends & the Thanksgivings they had on there.
