My thoughts on teens and violence

OK~ Yesterday was a crazy day with the Trap Shooting Season fully underway- opening meet.  During a brief break during my crazy day I glanced at the news.  And, I was totally dismayed when I read the story of teens destroying an Apple IPad.  These teens think it is "cute" to purchase what I call an expensive piece of electronics and then destroy it with a baseball bat. This, in my eyes is violence.  Do you know how many students in schools would love to have an opportunity to own one of these and use it appropriately?  My thinking, these teens need to spend some time working in a soup kitchen, reading with homeless children, cleaning up rooms in an inner city or participating in Earth Day activities, each and every day!

These teens obviously have no respect for money or others.  This is one of the most disrespectful forms of behavior I have ever seen.  I, myself, read the news story, but will not view the video.  I'm assuming these disrespectful teens want numbers and this Mom is not giving them hers!  I do wonder what their parents think~ teens do make their own choices, the parents don't make them for them.  If it were my teen, I would want to crawl in a hole and not reappear for a few days!  Well, I guess we all have to deal with these types of behavior on a daily basis, so I guess we all better get used to accepting it.  Seems to be respect has been tossed out the window~ How on earth do we change this around?  After All, It's All In A Mom's Day, Right?

The opinions expressed here are mine and nobody elses.  I did not receive any compensation for posting my opinions here.

  1. Wow, I hadn't heard about those teens yet. It makes me sad to hear about how little respect some people have. I'm not going to watch the video either. I am going to chat with my 4 year old about how we need to take good care of the things we have. Got to start young. :-)

I always love feedback on my blog!
