OK~ I've noticed a lot of my twitter friends tweeting about their children and their first day of Kindergarten this school year. I cannot stress to you how important it is that you actually do REJOICE on this day.......Maybe I'm a little backwards~BUT~ when our youngest started Kindergarten, I can honestly say I was doing a happy dance! I did walk him to his room, took a stroll around, said, "See ya after school!" and headed out of the building. I can honestly say I walked around several Moms that were wiping their tears and sobbing......I was smiling!
Moms~ This is a Happy Day! Be excited, don't be sad~ OK~ tears of happiness, I can go for those.......Don't be sad! When our oldest started Kindergarten, I do recall I was relieved to get him off on his own......And wham...In the blink of an eye~ He's now 19 1/2 years old! Life happens, don't let it drag you down! Shed a tear or two if you MUST~ but in all seriousness, look at that first day of Kindergarten as a milestone within your family. Life moves on and Moms need to learn to let their children experience life- sometimes this means Mom won't physically be there, but Mom will always be with them in spirit!
Trust me, you don't want to be known as "The Helicopter Parent" once your child gets to high school or college~ After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?
