All of this Mud.......

OK~ Garrett is headed out the door to the bus this morning.  He opens the door to the entryway.  He is commenting on these paw prints.......With a day of rain and mud...this is how the floor looked!  I was stunned...since when does he care what the floor looks like?

The Guilty party...........

He's usually the one bringing in 10 times more mud than these dogs....Maybe there is hope!  After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?

Clinere Ear Cleaners Review & Giveaway ( US Readers)

OK~ I'm not sure how things are at your house in regards to cleaning those ears, but at this house we go through the ever famous Q-tips like crazy. For the past couple weeks our family has been trying this product called Clinere Ear Cleaners. What's unique about these is they are made of a flexible soft plastic, not cotton like we are used to in this house. One end has a scoop on it and the other end has a scraper on it. I know, it sounds gross, but our ears are mighty important to all of us!

A couple of us in our house have psoriasis, so we are always dealing with itchy ears. And I must say these worked well. The scraper end is bendable and worked great when it came to itch relief in those itchy ears. The little scooper end simply lifts out the wax and does not push it further into the ear canal.  It took a little while to get used to the hard feel as compared to the softer feel of a Q-tip. The flexibility of this little tool is maybe even a little more flexible than a Q-tip. As with any product or tool that is used to clean the ear, remember that it is never ok to enter the ear canal.

Rick Olson, President of Clinere Products, Inc., states, "After watching others clean their ears with foreign objects for years, I decided to develop a product that actually works." He continues by stating, "Whether individuals require daily or occasional cleaning, Clinere Ear Cleaners will provide them with the assistance they need.

Our family likes this soft, flexible plastic tool for cleaning our ears.  These user friendly, flexible ear cleaners are available at Walmart, Kmart, Walgreens, CVS, Meijer, H-E-B and Shopko stores across the United States.   They can be purchased in packages of 10 and retail between $5.99 and $6.99 per package.

Here's your opportunity to try Clinere Ear Cleaners.  One of you is going to win a 10-count package of Clinere Ear Cleaners.  Be sure to leave me a comment for each Entry!  Make sure you leave me your E-mail address or Twitter ID~ If you win, I need to have a way to contact you.

Mary Poppins~ Civic Center of Greater Des Moines

OK~ My family and I had the opportunity to attend Mary Poppins at the Civic Center of Greater Des Moines, last evening, November 27th, 2010!  What a fun opportunity.  It was so fun to see people doing something that they love and truly enjoying every moment of it while on stage.

Yep, here we are! Quite the happy bunch.  Most of you know, I have very few pictures of my 15 year old smiling, here's another one to add to the pile! Kudos to the very helpful lady that took this photo!

Mary Poppins, The Hit Broadway Musical, plays in Des Moines through Dec. 12th, 2010. The show is family friendly, while entertaining for all ages.  Me being the casual observer that I was, took note as to how people were dressed.  This was a Sat. night and I'm assuming some people just dress up more on Sat. night. There were people dressed in evening attire to how Garrett is dressed, jeans and a sweatshirt.  Families need not worry about spending extra money on attire for the kids, this show is full of family fun and affordable! If you'd like to see what days you can see this performance and how much it will cost, head over ticketmaster; as they handle the tickets for this awesome performance!

I had almost forgotten how much fun the word Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious can be! This was a really fun part of the show.  It's amazing what a word can do! This was, of course, one song that I recognized. "A Spoonful of Sugar" and "Chim Chim Cher-ee" were two other songs that I recalled from the past.

The cast was huge!  It takes a lot of people to put on a production like this.  Lots of people with amazing talent!
Mary Poppins was played by Caroline Sheen, she was absolutely perfect for the part.  And, according to the Newton Daily News, Eric Hatch, who is part of an ensemble, is from Knoxville, Iowa! The music, acting, singing, "stunts" were all entertaining!  An amazing cast with a lot of talent.

Garrett, of course, drug his feet. He wasn't so sure about attending Mary Poppins with his parents on a Saturday evening! He moaned and groaned a little bit. But I must say this Mom took note. While glancing over at him, he did actually crack a smile or two during the performance. What boy, of any age, doesn't love to see people "fly?" Just proves that a 15 year old  that enjoys "outdoors" activities can have fun at a fast paced, yet down to earth, musical performance.

The characters, costumes, music ( the orchestra was also fabulous), and story line was a full 2 1/2 hours of family entertainment! I especially liked how the story line addressed real life issues, which face real people in the year 2010. Of course, the faithful and loyal Mary Poppins shared her encouragement and common sense to the performance. She casually reminded all of us on how important it is to do good for others, as well as for yourself.

If you are looking for a fun way to share some time with your family over the next couple weeks, do check out Mary Poppins in Des Moines, Iowa.  You will have a great time and maybe even develop a new appreciation of the arts in general.  And how could I forget the set and the costumes? The set and costumes are amazing works of art. Make the time to do something a little different this holiday season, take the family to Mary Poppins, your family will thank you!

On one more note~ parking was fairly simple.  Parking ramps and street parking were both fairly easy to find.  After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?

*I did receive three complimentary tickets to see this performance at The Civic Center of Greater Des Moines, in Des Moines, Iowa.  I also received a bag of Mary Poppins merchandise upon picking up our tickets.  The opinions expressed here are mine and nobody else's.

This Mom is Trying to Take Back Christmas

OK~ I'm thinking of how Christmas used to be. Anybody remember when you could not wait for Frosty The Snowman to be broadcast on ABC? Or maybe you could not wait for Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer to make an appearance on CBS? Have the times ever changed.

While glancing through all of the ads for Black Friday shopping, I looked at some of the deals;  and yes, there were some deals.  But, did I really need any of those deals?  NOPE, (I stayed home). Our kids of today literally have Christmas around them 24/7. Many kids have DVD's of the Christmas classics sitting in their mix of DVD's. This isn't necessarily a bad thing. In all seriousness, with all of the extra activities that our kids are involved in today; most families would not find the time to sit around the tv on a Tuesday evening come 7:00 p.m. to view a family classic!

Our kids live in a me, me, me world and expect everything NOW!  Believe me- My teens are no exception to this rule.  We, as a society have got to slow down and get back to the basics. Snow angels or sand angels (if you live where it is warm), and even old fashioned Christmas Caroling are great family activities!  The focus of Christmas and the holidays should not be on all of this "stuff." Do something different this year- Challenge your family to take back Christmas! After all, Christmas is all about  a little baby named Jesus!  We would not celebrate Christmas if it were not for the birth of this baby. We all need to be thankful for our faith, family, food, a roof over our head, and our health!

The electronic age has definitely brought many positive experiences to many families as well. Think about this~ The ability for Grandkids to Skype with their Grandparents over the miles. And then there is the fact that families can record their favorite Christmas shows and schedule family time to watch it!  Challenge your family to take back Christmas this year.....It's OK to say "NO" once in a while. Your WHOLE family will thank you~Believe me, this Mom has learned!

Happy Thanksgiving 2010

OK~Here is what we woke up to this morning~ iced trees........On the bright side of things~ We do not have any snow yet!  Gotta love an Iowa Thanksgiving when there is no snow on the ground.  On the bright side of things;  the turkey was thawed, there was no knife stuck in the turkey, and EVERYONE, including our dogs & cats sampled our Thanksgiving meal!  After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?

Farm Rich Snacks Review~ Just in Time For The Holidays

OK~ Farm Rich (Keep 'Em Happy)~ Entertaining becomes so much simpler when you reach for these tasty appetizers and snacks!

We sampled the cheese sticks, philly cheese steak, pizza slices, and quesadillas.  All four products were simple to prepare.

  • Cheese Sticks- Can be baked in a conventional oven/toaster oven, convection oven or deep fries.  We liked the taste and crunch that they got from being in a deep fryer for 2 1/2 minutes. Easy to fix, just round up some marinara sauce, and you are ready to enjoy these cheese sticks!
  • Philly Cheese Steak- Can be baked in a conventional oven/toaster oven, or microwaved.  We prepared these both ways and found that we did not like them that well. They were OK, but not a taste that our family enjoyed.
  • Pizza Slices_- Can be baked in a conventional oven/toaster oven, or microwave.  We loved these prepared both ways! These were simple and tasted great!
  • Quesadillas-Can be baked in a conventional oven or microwaved.  We enjoyed these prepared both ways. We did add a little bit of sour cream to them ~ these were very, very yummy!
With the holiday season upon us, I would highly recommend any of these products for your next holiday gathering. Several of these family friendly snacks can also be prepared by kids that know how to run a microwave. A great after school snack when Mom and Dad aren't around.  This is just a small sampling of the products that Farm Rich offers. They even offer French Toast Sticks for the breakfast person, in Original and Cinnamon!

Be sure to swing over to Farm Rich, you can download a coupon. Good on your next  purchase of these great appetizers/snacks! As a busy Mom, I'm always looking for simple foods~ and this company definitely makes simple, friendly Mom foods! After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?

*I was given four coupons from Farm Rich to purchase four items of my choice.  I did not receive any monetary compensation.  The opinions expressed here are mine and nobody else's.

Your kitchen ever look like this?

Another fine day with our clothes dryer~ NOT!

OK~ I've written all about it before~ most of you know I absolutely despise my front loading washing machine.  I know some people love theirs, but I really do not like mine!  Now, the matching clothes dryer, that is also supposed to be so energy efficient.....Well, let's just say I can't stand that either.  After discussing the situation (over 3 years ago)  with the retailer that sold us our HE3 Kenmore Elite set, we were advised to vacuum it out monthly.....I had no idea that vacuuming a clothes dryer is something that you should do monthly.  Well, here's what the inside of this crazy thing looks like~ 98% of the time!

You would never know that I do clean out the lint filter in between every load of clothes. A poor design I do say. Isn't this the type of design work that mechanical engineers do? Here's my plea:  Someone please design a clothes dryer that does not have to be vacuumed out on a monthly basis, that does not sell for $1000.00. The much more inexpensive, older model of a clothes dryer that I had before this, did not have any maintenance issues like this.
This is the what the lint filter holder looked like.  And yes, I do clean the lint filter after every load goes through.  It's quite obvious that the filter does not work properly!

After a thorough vacuuming and a little bit of soap and water~ This is ready to go for another month.  Does your clothes dryer require all of this maintenance?  I am very disappointed in this~ too expensive to just toss out and purchase a new one.  We'll keep vacuuming away...It's now 6 years old, probably past it's time anyway..........Isn't that about how long the average appliance lasts in today's world?

My advice:  Take the front off of your clothes dryer~ check it out~ make sure your clothes dryer is not prone to a fire as this one appears to be!  After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?

Your Thanksgiving Meal is Affordable this year

OK~ The turkey is in the freezer and the other meal necessities have been purchased!  I was kind of curious as to how much this meal will cost.  A local restaurant is offering a Thanksgiving Day Buffet for $12.99 per person,  so I thought I'd compare the cost.  Here's my breakdown.

Turkey for $8.57.

A 5 lb. bag of potatoes for $0.89

A bag of frozen corn for $0.99

Dressing  for $0.79 ( I was on the hunt for Pepperidge Farm Dressing, could not find it)  This will work just fine!

1 lb. bag of baby carrots $0.69

Mrs. Smiths Pumpkin Pie $3.14

Can of Swanson Chicken Broth $0.50

Cool Whip FREE (with the purchase of the pie)

Milk, Butter, Salt, Pepper, and flour needed to prepare the meal $4.00  (My estimate)

For a grand total of:  $19.57  + Family Togetherness which is PRICELESS!

For four people to eat at $12.99 we would spend $51.96.  With our home cooked Thanksgiving meal we will eat at $4.89 per person.  And I can promise you we will have leftover turkey sandwiches for a few days as well!

This is a very basic Thanksgiving meal, and it is what we will be eating this coming Thursday.  Now, I need to remember to thaw the turkey out...........I'm not sure that it's worth paying someone $32.39 to prepare our meal.  I've got lots of help here~ A husband and two teenage boys that won't be able to stay out of the kitchen on Thanksgiving Day~ Wishful thinking~ I know!  After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?

*The opinions expressed here are mine and nobody else's.  I did not receive product or any form of compensation to post this.

Thanksgiving, Turkey & A Few Mishaps Along the Way

OK~ Our turkey is in the freezer.  I was forced to think of some past experiences with the turkey on Thanksgiving.  It's really not too difficult to cook a turkey~ the issues really begin to evolve in the preparation process.

You can never have too much soap handy when you are working with a thawed out turkey!  You must wash your hands after handling this slimy bird!  (This Mom has never had issues with this).

Here's where the issues have came into play:  Yep, this Mom admits it---She has cooked a turkey with the "stuff" in the neck- Now, I'm not referring to the stuffing, I am referring to that little packet of heart, giblets, etc............ I think I failed to tell anybody this until now!

And then there was the year that I failed to thaw the turkey out 100%.  For whatever reason, I was using a knife and I managed to break the knife out inside the turkey!  Here I was, knife handle in hand and the blade was stuffed into the turkey!

I'm hoping for a calm, uneventful Thanksgiving day in the cooking department this year. After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?

Wow~ Did this Old Lady hear that right?

OK~ Time to rise and shine.....The conversation goes like this~

Me:  "Garrett, Time to Get Up"

Garrett:  "Can you take me to school today?"

Me:  "Sure"

Geeze, when did I get so soft?  Clocky has not been put to use for quite some time and actually he is not really needed.  Our ride to school was fairly good.  More great comments as we get close to the high school and observe someone turn the wrong way down a street.

Garrett:  "Look at that.  Must be some old 40 year old lady"

I was stunned!  I now know that my 15 year old son has defined his Mother as an OLD LADY!  We then get to school-

Me:  "Have a Fun Day!"

Garrett:  Gives me the look- "What did you say? Fun, don't you mean good day?"

Well, I guess my 15 year old son does "listen" to me.  Thinking about it, I usually say Have a Good Day,  not a Fun Day!  Oh well.........After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?

Ergotron Neo-Flex Notebook Lift Stand

OK~ I was excited to be able to try out an ergonomic product.  The day we received this user friendly Ergotron Neo-Flex Notebook Lift Stand, we were all excited. Thank you, Ergotron, you made our day!  Every member of this household has used this product and we can say that it sure makes using a laptop easier on the eyes.  When we use our laptops we don't always think about how we tilt our necks.  Once you use a lift stand, you will also realize how much easier it is on the neck. ( I should make a note that this lift stand is intended to be used with a separate keyboard & mouse).

Taking it out of the package was easy and the assembly process was also fairly simple.  With a six inch motion range,  your laptop can be placed on this lift stand and viewed quite comfortably by most anyone.  We did use another keyboard at different times, which made the use of our laptop and stand even more user friendly!  Gotta love those Ergonomics~ Ergotron has it all!  Once we figured out how to adjust the tilt, we were set.

It arrived in safe, descriptive packaging!  The directions were legible and helpful!

If you do not have a desk top computer in your house, this is a simple way to test one out.  I personally like using the desk top computer for certain things, as opposed to our laptop.  When a keyboard is used, you do get the true feeling of a desk top computer.  The lift and tilt features were great for each of us, as we all sat at different levels for viewing the laptop screen.

Out of the package and almost ready to use!

A cool feature of this stand is the fact that it rotates 360 degrees.  Take for instance, you want to look at photos of a recent family celebration.  Instead of everyone hunched over your shoulders, you can share them by rotating the viewing platform!  Gotta love the simple things in life.

Another great feature is the fact that it has a vented platform which allows for adequate cooling of your laptop.  No worries about an overheated laptop on your lap.

We did not use the platform with a projector, but it is very capable of being a projector platform.  Just another reason to invest in an Ergotron Neo-Flex Notebook Lift Stand.  The fact that it lifts and tilts so easily, it works out perfect when it comes to adjusting to a projector platform.

This product is transportable, lightweight, and ergonomically friendly to this family.  With a couple of prestigious computer/engineering awards under its belt, this product is one that anyone would benefit from!

My one concern was the fact that I wondered if this stand would scratch our desktop or table.  I am happy to report that it did not!  A product that we enjoyed, which will make using our laptop a little more ergonomically friendly!

*I did receive an Ergotron Neo-Flex Notebook Lift Stand from Ergotron to review.  I did not receive any additional compensation.  The opinions expressed here are mine and nobody else's.

My "3" Thoughts on Why I Exercise

OK~ If you are like me it takes motivation to get to the gym and work out.  For me, my motivation is pretty simple.  Avoid surgery...that's all I need to hear.  So, off to the gym I go- 5-6 days a week.  Today was just not one of those pretty days!  You know~ this cool, Iowa weather really chills me~ So, here was my motivation to get out the door to the YMCA.

  • Keep that body limber (Yep, there is hope for this 40 something body!)
  • It's good to get out of the house on a dreary, cloudy, cold day!
  • Gives me time to talk with my hubby (Even though he is the passenger in the car and rides with his ear phones in- I usually find myself talking to myself)!
Well, how do your three reasons for exercising compare?  I think I'll keep venturing to the YMCA.....It's good for my mind, body and soul!  After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?

Monday, Monday, Monday~

OK~ Another Monday has arrived.  Is Monday your favorite day of the week~ probably not!  Monday is just that, another day.  After a fun- filled week-end with family and friends; Monday is kind of a let down.  But, it is wonderful to have the sun shining, mid 30'-s and we missed the snow here in North Iowa!  Monday morning started out with Kid #1 on a hunt for his wallet~ This Mom has no clue where it is....But, of course, I am expected to know the EXACT location!

And Kid #2 arises- leaves the house for work, while mumbling, "GRRR.....I hate getting up this early for work (It's 7:30 a.m.)~" I say, "Have a good day, drive safe, roads might be slick."  And then there is Skipper~ he is outside on a brisk Monday morning harassing every cat he can find!  Looks like a good Monday in store.......After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?

50 years of Marriage on an Iowa Farm

OK~ Here go my ramblings on how I'm going to get to 50 years of marriage with my beloved hubby!  My parents celebrated 50 years of Marriage yesterday and I think to myself- Wow, 50 years sounds like a long time.  But, when you start and think of "life" and all of its happenings, it's really not that long of a period of time~ OR is it?

I do believe patience is a key term for all of us when it comes to marriage.  We are surviving the teenage years (the last I checked).  Why do those years as parents become so challenging?  When we became parents we knew that our kids would be babies, toddlers, kids, teens, young adults and so forth.....But~ Nobody tells you that you may possibly get to know several police officers by first name,  have to clean up vomit at all hours of the night, AND be a multi-tasker unlike any other era of your life!

50 years is a milestone.......We will get there through the thick and thin!  Through the bad and the good~ and of course we will get there through many fun times!  Thinking back of how my parents survived the teenage years with my siblings and I~ Well, they endured the calls from the local police, the occasional letter from the school, and several slumber parties with "noisy" girls!  And of course they survived the years that I convinced my Dad to buy me a pony, which turned into years my Dad would rather forget about!

Living in Iowa is such a good place to raise a family~The open country, clean air and a sense of freedom unlike any other place we could raise a family............I'm thankful to be an Iowa farm girl and proud to be the daughter of a true retired American Farmer and his wife!  Life is good in my own little corner of the world~ Now, to be patient and work on 26 more years of marriage~ and 50 it will be!  After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?

The Weather~ This Mom wonders about the weatherman (weatherwoman)

OK~ Just returned from giving Garrett a ride to school.  There was a rain/snow mix....People~ Please remember that in Iowa we do have Winter driving conditions, SLOW DOWN!  The highway, in town, looked wet....Sleet pouring down!  I watched someone slide right through a stop light, avoid hitting the car in front of me, and turned the car 360 degrees.  Yep, this person was lucky!

And I do have to wonder how the weather people used to figure out the forecast.  There were no computer models to follow~ I'm assuming the science, when it comes to weather, has not changed that much over the years.  We have rain, snow, mixed precipitation, ice, thunderstorms, tornadoes....I'm just wondering~ How accurate were the weather forecasts "back then?" This morning I awoke to a lady from the National Weather Service speaking with a local radio personality stating, "In North Iowa you will see rain today. Changing to a little bit of snow after midnight into tomorrow~ minor accumulations."  "But, this all depends on the computer model!"  So, my question, why exactly do we pay people to produce weather forecasts? You and I can probably go online and look at the same thing these professionals do. Just my ramblings for the day........Hopefully this little sleet "show" will come to a close rather quickly!  After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?

Where did that cat come from?

OK~ I'm in my own little world~ I hear Garrett say, "Where did that cat come from?"  Mind you.....I am sitting in the house and we have NO house cats!  I look up, and our dear cat, so cleverly named Gray, is prancing across the living room floor.  Garrett is watching the cat.  At this point she disappeared and I followed her to the basement.  I'm thinking she has had way too many tours of our house, as she seemed to know how to elude being tossed back outside.  You may recall that we had mice in our house a couple years ago and I said I was ready to fire every single outside farm cat we had.  Living in the country, In Iowa, we do have a few critters now and then.  Well, she was one that I brought into the house to rummage through the closet where the mice had been.  She had no interest in any mice~not even the one in the trap!

She is quite the clever cat~ She is Gray and she is also the cat that we would see out "in" the garbage bag- we would see her tail- not the rest of her! She did that each garbage pick up day....That ended when Todd fired the garbage man~ That's a whole other blog post......After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?

Self Check-outs~ This Mom sighs.....

OK~ Several stores now have self check-outs.  Where you, the consumer, ring your own purchases over a scanner.  What's so unappealing to me is the fact that 9 times out of 10,  a store employee needs to assist in the purchase.  Yes, I do know that you must wait for the item to register as "in the sack."  Just my ramblings on Monday~ I guess it is job security for the person that assists all of these purchases.  And in today's world we all know how important having a job is.  Oh, and then the Express Lane, don't even get this Mom going!  The last time I used one of those the gentleman ahead of me had more than 25 items and the sign explicitly said "12 items of less!"  Just proves my point again, that many adults can't read, so why should we expect our kids to perform better in school~ Now, that's another blog post!  After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?

Time to go Pheasant Hunting!

OK~ In Iowa it is pheasant hunting season and the boys are enjoying trying to get theirs!  This morning Todd and Garrett were ready to head out.  Todd took a detour with the cats at the barn

Garrett was still getting his things rounded up and Wally, he of course was ready to go!

They eventually left the yard, Wally, Todd, and Garrett were in the cab~ Wally crawled through that window that is open. And, of course, this guy~ Skipper also went along~ He loves riding in the back!

Just a week ago, he got skunked for Halloween~ looks pretty good, huh?  Well~ long story short~ They saw one pheasant~ Skipper got fired~ Wally can go pheasant hunting next time and Skipper can't!  This Mom is thankful she is not relying on pheasants for meal time~ there are not many to be found.  After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?

This is MTV?

OK~ I guess I'm really out of it.....I seriously thought that MTV played music.  Well, I'm on the treadmill at the YMCA tonight and I'm listening to some music, which watching the television ahead of me.  I noticed in the lower right hand corner it said MTV.  Then I see a young girl giving birth!  Hello, did I miss something?  I guess I'm really out of it.  I should have known that 16 and Pregnant would be a reality tv show on MTV........I really don't get it. What happened to music videos? Is a show like this really, really necessary? I'll be curious to see what channels are playing tomorrow when I'm at the YMCA.  After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?

Chinese Fire Drill!

OK~ Garrett and I are on the way home from youth group last night.  This fine conversation goes like this........

Garrett:  Can you still do a Chinese Fire Drill?

Me:  I played dumb...What are you talking about?

Garrett:  Would you get arrested if you did that?

Me:  What exactly are you referring to?

Garrett:  It's when you stop the car ANYWHERE ( as in the middle of the road) and everybody gets out, runs around and finds a new seat in the car!

Me:  Ummm (Pondering how to respond) You can't stop the car just anywhere.  You would have to stop at a stop sign or stop light.

Garrett:  So, you are saying I wouldn't get arrested for doing that?

Me: No comment........Crank the radio up and no comment the rest of the way home.

We pull into the garage and Garrett says, "Mom, so you think it would be OK to do a Chinese Fire Drill?"  I responded, "Nope! Never OK...I am done discussing this"

He's got a little bit of time before he's driving~ He is 15 and as of right now has no desire to get his driver's license...Maybe a good thing, don't you think?  After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?

My "3" Things

OK~ Life has been pretty chaotic in our community the past week or so.....It's time to think of some happy thoughts and I did NOT have to think too hard to come up with My "3" Things.

  1. My teens~ I honestly never know what they are going to say, what they are going to wear and why they do the things they do!  And you know what? It makes my life fun and interesting.
  2. My dogs~ Wally and Skipper...Have to love the fact that we had a roaming skunk for a few days during Halloween!

3. My life~ Yep, my life would be #3!  Thankful to be able to laugh, walk, and enjoy my family each
day!  It's really OK when my 15 year old calls demanding to be picked up NOW!  I'm thankful he
can call, with a tone of rudeness, and we can discuss it all later!  Life is full of ups and downs- but
if there's anything I've taken away from this past week, it truly is to laugh and enjoy life!

These are happy thoughts.......We all need to remember that God does have a plan for each little blessing our lives!  Each one of us has something to offer~ A smile, friendship, a loving hand, a hug, or even just being there for someone in a time of need!  Just My "3" Things~ You have "3" Things to share?  After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?
