OK~ We all know that Moms are the heart and souls of our homes! I'm so grateful that my Mom took the time to be involved in all areas of my life while growing up. She was the Sunday School Teacher, The VBS Snack Lady, The 4-H Leader, and the Mom that always listened (and still does). The best advice my Mom ever gave me in regards to parenting was to let my boys be themselves and she showed me how to reach out to others.
Little did I know that those little gestures she made towards others while I was growing up, would have such a positive impact in my life. It's important to include everyone~ yep, that included the kids that I maybe didn't know very well. The occasional visit to an older person showed me that it's important to show others that you do care. Want to show Mom you care~ Tiny Prints offers Mother's Day Cards and much, much more......
In our crazy world today life gets busy! We find ourselves going this way, that way; and every which way in between. It's important to remember every person is unique and has a special purpose in our world! I recall taking several Cub Scouts to decorate doors at a local nursing home for the holiday season~ all because my Mom showed me that things like this do matter. I'm sure my Moms positive influences on me are why I took the initiative to call up a homeless shelter to see what is needed. And, the next week, several Cub Scouts, along with myself were Christmas Caroling and taking bags of goodies.
And my boys, I've said it before~ love them unconditionally. I will always love them, but not what they do! Life is about choices and learning from our choices along the way. Through simple and difficult choices, we've found our way through this maze~ it's kind of fun at times! Love your kids, reach out to others, trust in God, and it's OK to make a mistake now and then. Thanks, Mom~ After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?
