Hold On For The Ride

OK~ Garrett and I are in the car. Garrett is driving. Some of you may know...this youngest child of mine, who is almost 16 does not smile for pictures. And I do have my camera on me a lot~ but I still miss the opportune time to take a pic! The conversation goes like this:

Me:  You seeing everything OK?

Garrett:  This car goes 0-60- How fast?

Me:  We do not care how long it takes this car to get from 0-60!

Garrett:  Smiles...Yes, a smile and I did not have my camera in hand! Mom, you are no fun!

Oh well.........I'm glad he's showing interest in driving. It's just a matter of time before my little guy ( He's about 6'2")  will have a driver's license in hand. First thing..he needs to take a driver's education class - So, this Mom has a little bit of time on her side. There's something about giving the baby in the family the keys....Oh, and that smile! It was a smile that I will always remember! This Mom is sitting back, buckling up and holding on for the ride! After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?

  1. I remember first starting to drive! I couldn't wait to get behind the wheel. I know my sisters oldest kid is 18 and decided he wanted to drive at 17 not really to thrilled about the whole thing. I was shocked who doesn't want to drive. Well now he wants to drive everywhere and doesn't seem to think the corners mean to slow down when approaching them. Brother in law did a brake job for him and his tires were wearing out from the fast corners. And he says he isn't driving fast. I caught him a few times zooming down the street. Not good!
