Three Things That You Need To Know About Iowa

OK~ I've got three new things to share with you! As an Iowa farm gal, there are many things that I have taken for granted.

  • I have always assumed that people know meat comes from animals, as it does not come from a "wrapper" in the grocery store.
  • I have always assumed that people know that Iowa is not Idaho- Iowa is not known as the state with the potatoes.
  • I have always assumed that people know that Iowa is in the Mid-West.
I have been reminded that it is not always right to assume. As you can tell, my assumptions have proved me wrong. Here in the heartland we have work to do. We Iowans are a small percentage of the population of the United States, yet we feed millions of people throughout the world.

The Field Position covers a lot of information that I have learned many of you are pondering the answers to. Shannon Latham prides herself on her recipes, as well as her passion for agriculture.
