OK~ The Iowa to Florida Road Trip would not be complete without talking about food. If you are headed to the Shark Valley entrance in Everglades National Park, the Miccousukee Restaurant is the ideal spot to grab a bite to eat. The restaurant sits a few yards from the park entrance.
The gator tail and frog legs caught out 17 year old son's eyes right away. There was no doubt in my mind that he would be adventuring away from the meats that we enjoy in the Mid-West.

The Indian fry bread appeared to be a popular menu item, as well as the Indian tacos. I ordered chicken strips, which I will add were very good. The boys ordered frog legs, gator tail, and catfish. Our waiter was friendly and provided us with top notch service!

If you are looking for a low calorie meal, this is probably not the place to stop. I must say we did enjoy a grease festival! The food was tasty, fresh, and food that we definitely still talk about. Here in Iowa, frog legs and gator tail is something that is just not anywhere to be found in a local restaurant. Part of the fun of a family vacation is tasting new foods and living to talk about them for the next 20 years. After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?
