OK~ Valleyfair located in Shakopee, Minnesota, is the largest amusement park in the Upper Midwest. Here you will find activities for the whole family. We recently visited the park on a Monday in July of 2012, and were greeted with fun all around us. One of the most noticeable things in this park was how clean it was. I quickly attributed the cleanliness to the fact that guests did not have to walk very far to find a trash can.

The roller coasters are all around! The Wild Thing offers a 200 foot drop at 60 degrees and tops off at 74 miles per hour.

Planet Snoopy offers a wide variety of attractions that are ideal for kids that are 36-54" tall. Several of the attractions here are perfect for tweens. Tweens often feel left out when they visit an amusement park. They are often too short for the high speed thrill rides and often too tall for the kiddie rides. Valleyfair offers a nice selection of rides for tweens.

Then there was food. Garrett ordered a burger, fries and pop. The grand total was $15.08. Yep, you read that correct. My suggestion, split this meal. The burger was good, the fries were plentiful and the pop was cold.

If you are visiting during the week, I would not suggest spending the extra money on the fast lane wristband, which provided a shorter wait time. The lines on the Monday we visited were very short. We did not wait more than 10 minutes to ride any attraction. Guests can also save money on their tickets, by purchasing them online.
So, the next time you are planning a visit to the Twin Cities, make a swing through Shakopee and spend a day at Valleyfair. Your family will thank you and trust me, you will not hear, "I am bored!" You will hear, "I do not want to go home!" After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?
*My family and I were provided two one day park passes. We paid our parking, food and drinks. I did not receive any monetary compensation for this post. The opinions expressed here are mine and nobody else's.
