OK~ I am not a very good cook, so I am always looking for easy ways to cook things. Through the years I have learned that in order to be a good cook, I need to be patient. Due to the fact that I am simply not a patient person, cooking is just not my thing. Once in a while I can cook up something that turns out rather good. I can define rather good as not burned, cooked all the way through, and it all gets eaten up. Yes, it does happen; but not that often.
Once Pinterest came onto the seen I kind of secretly thought, "Yes, here is the solution to my cooking problem." Well, in order for these Pinterest recipes to be successful, they have to be edible. That's where my downfall is. For some reason, I can follow the instructions of a new recipe and yet, it is just not edible!
My family can probably be defined as a meat and potatoes family. I rarely screw up mashed potatoes, baked potatoes (that has happened), or boiled potatoes. Hamburgers are usually safe, as well as hot dogs. Chicken breasts usually get eaten up, as well as the occasional steak.
Pinterest offers so many awesome looking Mexican dishes, which I might add have all been a major fail. It also offers tasty looking desserts, and I will admit, I have pinned many; but not tried to bake them. And then there was this super, easy popcorn recipe that I found.
Round up a microwaveable bowl (which I thought I did), popcorn, and a cover for the bowl. I thought I had found the ideal way to pop popcorn- Easy and Quick! Anybody tried this?
I had success for a couple times and let's just say the third time got the best of me!
Yes, that so called microwaveable bowl is now history! Look how nicely intact that plate stayed. It appears that I now need to invest in brown paper bags. According to Amy Magan, of 4th Frog, she has success popping corn in brown papers bags. I used to do that years ago, but somehow got away from having brown paper bags in the house. So, it's off to the store I go. I'm going to invest in brown paper bags so I can enjoy my freshly popped popcorn tonight. After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?
