Is Your Teen or Young Adult Moving To a New Place? Here's One Thing You Need To Know!

OK~ Another school year is quickly approaching and I'm thinking to myself, "Wow, this is kind of nice!" Both of my boys have graduated from high school and are now doing their own thing. So, this led me to think about things that your kids need to know about before they move out.

Once your teen or young adult moves into their own place, make sure they understand the parking rules. Many complexes have rules that even Moms have a difficult time understanding. If the rules do not make sense, simply ask in the office. Trust me, someone there will know.

How does this Mom know? Yep, you guessed it! Our son had his our car, at the time towed from his parking lot. You may be wondering, what does that entail?

Well, it entails a call to the towing company and the need for your child to dig into his/her checking account to find hundreds of dollars to get it out of the car pound! Short, simple and to the point- it is one BIG headache.

Lesson learned! Make sure you know where to park, where guests park, and if you need sticker attached somewhere on the car. Now that's another story. These stickers need to go in certain parts of the window, if they are stuck on the incorrect location; guess what? The car can be towed.

Sure seems complex, doesn't it? Make your life and your son/daughter's life a lot easier by understanding all the parking lot rules.

Oh yeah, and remember that car chaos we had last year? Well, our high school senior ended up purchasing five vehicle stickers for the high school parking lot. Each sticker was $5.00, so we contributed $25.00 to the high school parking lot fund. Hey, that sure beats the hundreds of dollars it may have cost to get it out of the car pound!  After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?
