Type A Parent Conference and An Adventurous Cab Ride

OK~ I have been in Atlanta for the Type A Parent Conference and all I can say is, "Wow!" As usual, I was blown away. The people rocked in every way, shape and form! This conference is one that offers awesome training sessions when it comes to blogging. I know that I learned from several speakers while at the Type A Parent Conference.

The journey from the airport to the hotel was an adventure, as usual. I had made arrangements to meet up with a couple bloggers to take a cab to the hotel from the airport, and due to my flight being late I think it threw all of us off a little bit. While waiting for me, they found a fourth person to ride in our cab with us, which worked out great- the more the merrier! We all tossed our bags in and I had the joy of sitting up front with this "interesting" cab driver.

I noticed right off the bat that he had a temporary driving permit which expires on 10/4/2013. I quickly did the math and computed that he had a short period of time before he had to make another permit. One of my fellow bloggers was very inquisitive as she noticed the "ticker" was not going. Yep, we had gotten into this cab and not asked if he knew where to go and what his rates were.

She brought it to his attention that the "ticker" was not going and we needed to know what the rate was. He said, "You will find out when we get there!" Yikes- I had all sorts of dollar figures floating through my head. We then brought it to his attention that he should know what the flat rate was, which he did not know. Well- this cab ride got more interesting. He became more frustrated and finally he said, "$50!"

Well, of course, we were all four talking; isn't that what bloggers do when they ride in a cab together? Our cab driver conveniently pulled into a driveway of the wrong hotel. Thankfully one of us noticed and our hotel was just down the block. Whhheewww! We arrived safely, in one piece; and had a fun blog post to boot!

For the record, I am now riding the MARTA, it's very simple and easy to use. I know what my fare will be and I have found fellow bloggers to ride around with. Type A Parent Conference continues to rock my world and 2014, wow- what can I say? Atlanta, Walt Disney World, and Disneyland for TypeA! Lots of inspiration and encouragement that I have never found elsewhere- TypeA rocks my world. After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?

Sunday, September 29, 2013 Family Friendly Cards And Gifts

OK~ Disclosure: I recently had the opportunity to review products from I did receive product for this review and the opinions expressed here are mine and nobody else's.

With a nice selection of products to choose from, the most difficult part of the process was choosing a product to try. From birthday cards, to thank you notes, and even holiday gifts, they have it all!

The order process was simple, and I really appreciated the follow up e-mail that verified the personalization that I had chosen. The order was not processed until I had ok'd it.

I chose the standard shipping and I was notified when my order was shipped out and I even received an e-mail right after it was delivered. I appreciated the extra steps that were taken during the shipping process.

If you have a Halloween Party on your agenda, you may want to consider ordering your invitations from If you want a more formal Halloween party invite, they have you covered.

Now, if you want a more casual Halloween party invitation, here ya go! How's this for fun? also offers fun holiday cards to choose from. Again, personalization sets these cards apart from some of the others that are available in the market place. I found this invitation to be fun and unique! Just right for the holidays.
As with all holidays and special occasions they tend to creep up on us and we wonder where the time went. My advice is to find the cards and invitations that you need, at least four weeks out. This will allow you time to get your invites and cards mailed out in a timely fashion.

Maybe you are looking for fun stationery, and you guessed it! has you covered in that department, as well. So, don't let your next get together sneak up on you, order your invites today! will provide you with quality invitations and cards that will be sure to offer a smile or two to the recipient. Honesty In The Grocery Store Appears To Be Non-Existent Today

OK~ I'm cruising through the grocery store and notice that I am a little out of place. I am not the Mom taste testing the grapes, eating 1/2 a banana, or am I opening up a jar of lotion to smell it and test it on my arm! Yikes...... am I missing something?

Maybe I grew up in a closet, but never once did I see my Mom do any of the above, or did my kids see their Mom do any of this. My brain is rolling now. How does one pay for the grapes they ate or the 1/2 banana?

Maybe I have never been exposed to this, as we have sweet corn out our back door for several weeks of the year, as well as apples like this one. Although for several months out of the year I am in the grocery store just like every other Mom on this planet.

So, technically wouldn't this be shop lifting or is just sampling? How does a parent get the message of what stealing is across to a young child? I do not proclaim to be a perfect parent, nor will I ever. But seriously, this sampling of foods and products just makes me want to shake my head.

While I watched this woman, with small children in her shopping cart, I thought to myself; what on earth is she doing? She opened up the container of lotion, smelled it and poured some out on her hands and her kids' hands. And then she placed it back on the shelf! So, I am now wondering. How often do I buy a bottle of anything that someone has been used? When I make a purchase in the store, I expect to get my money's worth and I was (up until now) assured that these products were fresh and tamper proof. Yikes!

The next time I see this happening I may not be the nice Mom that I was today. I  may be the "noisy" Mom that says something to management. Do people really not care? And I'm also assuming that management won't be able to do anything about it, as they might ruffle some feathers and lose a customer or two.

The next time I am in the grocery store I will have a whole new view of things. I can tell you that my produce will be washed like never before and I will be analyzing jars and bottles to see if they have been tampered with. Yep, I will be that Mom! After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?

This World Of Blogging Gets Better All The Time

OK~I am leaving on a jet plane to connect with old friends and new friends.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
I never imagined that when I started this blog more than four years ago that I would have so many new opportunities. The friendships, new places to explore, and the fun travel for myself and my family continue to rock my world!

Looking back at how I got to where I am today, is interesting. Had I not had a major health crisis in 2006, I do not think I would have found the opportunities that come with blogging. I had always loved to write and had never done anything with it. I knew I had to find my purpose and I had to find a reason to get out of bed each day. Let's face it, it is not fun when a major health crisis strikes. After a year of physical therapy and learning how to walk again, I was ready for something new in my life.

I am on my way to Type A Conference in Atlanta, something I would not have imagined seven years ago. The people I meet at these conferences get me and that rocks my world! I am a writer, speaker, and brand advocate and absolutely love this journey. Travel With Sara was born out of my love of travel and the desire to showcase what is out there for others! I love sharing and knowing that I can make a positive difference in the lives of others.

I recently spoke on finding blog conference sponsorship at Bloggy Conference in Ohio. I was truly humbled to know that my message of not being a chronic complainer hit home with several conference attendees. Mom Behind A Blog brought a smile to my face!

We never know where life is going to take us. I can honestly tell you that it is possible to live your dream and make life happen. I continue to work hard and dream big! It is through hard work, dedication, and loyalty we have great success in what we do. I am blessed to have a supportive family, as they continue to support me as I continue to dream big! What are your dreams and goals?Make them happen, do not wait for life to fall in your lap, as only you can make your life happen! After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?

We Planted A Few Trees And Look At Them Today

OK~ Today I drove through one of our local parks and had to do a double take. I really had not paid attention to these trees for several years, until this morning. Look how big these trees are!

Our family, along with another one, planted the pine trees that line the driveway here. I'm trying to think back as to when we planted them. I am thinking it was around 1998!

Our city was looking for volunteers and both of our families decided it would be a way we could give back to our community. Time has went by and I had forgotten about this project.

Thinking back, it was quite the fiasco. Our kids were very young at the time and turned out to be a major chore! Yet, in the grand scheme of things, it was worth it. It sounded like a very doable project, and was one that our kids could watch over time. I now need to ask my boys if they have drove by this site recently. It will be interesting to hear what they have to say.

These pine trees were very small, and if my memory serves me correctly, we planted 25+ trees. These do go around the parking lot of the tennis courts. I was saddened to see that the parking lot had been redone at some point, and some of the trees had been removed. Hopefully, the city transplanted them to another location.

The most difficult task of the whole project was watering these trees. It took several garden hoses hooked together to water them. The water faucet was a long ways away. So, when we went to the park to water the trees, it was a major undertaking. We also had to weed them early on, as they were tiny. Weeds tend to grow in any condition, they never seem to need water or sunshine!

Have you and your family done anything like this in your community? If you have, I'd love to hear about it! After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?

The Snugg Offers Fun Accessories For The iPad2

OK~ We order a lot of our electronic devices and accessories online. We recently stumbled across TheSnugg and have enjoyed the products we have ordered. I was in need of a cover for my iPad2 that would allow my iPad2 to stand upright. It did not take me long to find this electric blue cover.

Just a week ago I attended Bloggy Conference in Ohio and found this to be an accessory that I truly appreciated. I was able to have my iPad2 upright, which allowed me to use my portable keyboard and see the screen of my iPad2 from a comfortable position.

When I actually had this case in hand, I was liking the fact that there was a separate place for business cards. You could use these slots for cash cards, hotel keys, and the like. I found it extremely helpful for business cards, especially while attending a blogging conference. There is another pocket, which I found ideal for a couple brochures that I had received.

All in all, I'm liking this case for my iPad2. I love the color, it's functionality; and the fact that it actually keeps my iPad2 at a comfortable level while using my portable keyboard.

So, if you have an iPad2 and are in need of a case, I would recommend this electric blue case. It's lightweight and yet protects your iPad2 from any dings you may want to avoid. This case does allow my iPad2 to lie flat and stand up at a comfortable angle.

Depending on how you want to use your iPad2 will determine how you use this fun, functional case from The Snugg. And just in case you are not a fan of electric blue, you can own this case in red, brown, pink, orange, white and just about any color of the rainbow.

If you have been wanting to update your accessories for any of your portable devices, I'd highly suggest you visit The Snugg. You will be excited to show off your new accessories and want to use them as soon as possible. After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?

Bloggy Conference 2013 Inspired and Challenged Attendees

OK~ Bloggy Conference 2013 simply rocked! I know that I made some new connections this year that will make 2014 another amazing year of blogging. Many conference attendees are doing some amazing things that continue to inspire me.

Now that the conference has ended and we are all back on our home turf, it is important to build upon the momentum that Bloggy Conference created. If you want to make changes to your blog, make those changes now and move forward. If you do not make the changes, who will?

Conference attendees: I challenge you to reach out to a minimum of one person that you connected with. I do believe you will appreciate the response you get! It will be a fantastic connection and one you will be pleased to have taken the time to make.

I have been blessed to have connected with the gals of Bloggy Conference three years ago, as they helped me change how I blog and enhanced my life in ways I never imagined. Early on in my little blogging world, I never believed that I would be collaborating on different projects with a gal from New Jersey named Amiyrah Martin. You can connect with Amiyrah at 4 Hats and Frugal and let the fun begin!

This world of blogging has opportunities for everyone. If you are a magician, mom, teacher, scientist, journalist, weather man, auctioneer, waiter/waitress- jump in and make things happen. Let's face it, we all like to learn new things, right? The rewards you will reap through blogging, will bless you day in and day out.

I hope to connect and collaborate with several new folks as we move forward. I have no doubt that Bloggy Conference 2013 will change the lives of several bloggers. Leave me a comment if you've got a fun idea that we need to run with!

Cedar Point , the roller coaster capitol of the world, hosted Bloggy Conference and I cannot say enough about their hospitality. They were extremely accommodating and were proud to have our large group on the grounds. I cannot wait to share more information in the coming days and weeks, as Cedar Point is a great destination for your family vacation.

Bloggy Conference 2013 inspired and challenged me, just that little push that I needed! My to do list grew a little, but that's OK! This list is full of adventure and excitement. After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?

Update on My New Found Freedom: No Kids In School

OK~ It's almost a full month into the new school year for many families and I can honestly tell you that this Mom has adjusted just fine. I wanted to give all of you an update as to what I am not missing out on. Remember, I was the Mom (take note, the only one at the time that smiled when I left my Kindergartener in 2000) doing a Happy Dance when our youngest started school. I may also be an odd ball because I was doing a Happy Dance at graduation time too. Many Moms were teary eyed, yet this Mom was sooo happy. Now, don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with a tear or two, but I really don't miss it!

#1- I am NOT missing having a sick kid in the house during the month of September. Every single year, I'd have a kid home with some type of throat infection, never failed! I am not missing that at all!

#2- I do NOT miss having to get a kid up at 6:00 a.m. to catch the 6:55 a.m. bus, period.

#3- I do NOT miss the whining of "Why do I have to go to school today?" You parents that have kids
that love school, really are blessed! I have always been secretly jealous, as I have never had that experience.

#4- I do NOT miss the day to day updates from the boys' reports on who bullied who at school, never made my day!

So- in the grand scheme of things, life is going rather well in our household. I am loving this new found freedom, as I seem to be finding many new opportunities around every corner. I honestly believe that my boys and school is what was holding me back from excelling in my own passions. I always had the next PTO Meeting on my mind, the next IEP meeting, or when the next Parent Teacher Conferences would be. School was always the top of the list for this Mom, just not for my boys.

Finding that work, family balance can be challenging. I speak from experience, as those new experiences will come- just maybe not at the time or in the form you anticipated.

Here's to my new found freedom and a blessed school year for those of you with kiddos in school. Make the best of each day, as it's all a gift! After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?

U.S. Cellular Offers a User Friendly Rewards Program

Disclosure: I am a part of the Better Moments Blogger Brigade Program. I did receive compensation for this post. The opinions expressed here are mine and nobody else's.

OK~ As a member of U.S. Cellular's Blogger Brigade program and long time U.S. Cellular customer, I have to tell you; the rewards keep getting better all the time. Did you now that U.S. Cellular offers a valuable Rewards Program that recognizes loyalty? Registering is easy and you will start to earn points every month, to use for a variety of rewards.

I earn points every month by having enrolled in a rewards-eligible plan. I can tell you that this process is very simple and easy to do. One of us was due for a new phone and while in the store, a helpful salesperson introduced us to this program, signed us up and we started earning rewards instantly. You can also earn rewards points by referring a friend to U.S. Cellular and by attending a Device Workshop in your area. I like the fact that U.S. Cellular treats me as a person and not a number.

I recently used redeemed some of my points for this case for my Galaxy S4. It's a practical case when I am out and about, and I don't want to carry a purse. It attaches right to my belt.

I also recently redeemed some points for a ringtone that I had been wanting. As you can tell, the Rewards Program that U.S. Cellular offers has all your bases covered. You will find some fun, cool things to use!

You can redeem points in store, online, or by calling Customer Service and managing your points is a breeze using "My Account." It's a very easy process and worth the little amount of time you need to put into it. The Rewards are fantastic and you can kick back and have fun with your U.S. Cellular phone.

U.S. Cellular keeps our family connected, offers excellent service and offers a cool Reward Program- who wouldn't appreciate all that good stuff? After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?

Tips For Conference Attendees Of Bloggy Conference 2013

OK~ I'm attending Bloggy Conference this week-end in Ohio and I am super excited to share while attending. One thing that I keep seeing over and over again in my social media channels is that conference attendees are very concerned about what they will wear and what they will bring. My advice, make it as simple as possible!

I get it- we all want to look nice and present ourselves in a business like fashion. Most importantly dress the part and be yourself. Wear clothes that you feel comfortable in and smile! It is true, those first impressions can often be the last one- don't let that be you!

If you really, really want to carry around your laptop for the week-end by all means, go for it. Do I recommend it? No. A tablet is a little easier when it comes to taking notes and transporting from room to room. Pen and paper works every single time. I have never had pen and paper fail me. My tablet has died while taking notes- so a good rule of thumb for me is to have pen and paper on hand at all times.

Bloggy Conference attendees and families have the opportunity to experience Cedar Point while at the Conference. Thank you Cedar Point for hosting such a large group of people- you rock, period.

This will be my third time attending Bloggy Conference, and the connections I have made have been real throughout the past couple years. I have had the opportunity to collaborate with some top notch bloggers that I would have never met; had I not attended Bloggy Conference.

A huge thank you to the conference organizers of Bloggy Conference, as I know this is a huge undertaking. Your hard work and dedication will be appreciated by 100's of families this coming week-end.

Will you be attending Bloggy Conference? If so, I sure hope we share a smile or two and can collaborate on a project or two over the course of the next year. Oh yeah and one more thing Tweet With The Hashtag #BloggyCon13 to show your support of this fun conference. After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?

Bliss In A Box Brings Themed Birthday Parties To Life

OK~ I recently had the opportunity to experience Bliss in a Box! Thanks to my good friends over at Extra Space Storage I was set up with a nice selection of boxes. The scary part is the fact that I was turned lose on this project and could do whatever I wanted to do with them. My good friend Lisa is in the process of opening a themed birthday party store and we took these boxes and put together several themed party ideas in a box. Now that to me, is Bliss in a Box! Now, here's a glimpse of a Princess Party......

Little Red Riding Hood is another fun theme that she is offering.... The fun here can go on and on for hours!

Carnival is another fun party theme.... From the popcorn, circus tents to the face painting- dreams can come true! Here's a small sampling of the fun you can have with a Carnival themed birthday party.

Themed Birthday Parties are something that kids of all ages look forward to. These boxes provided the ultimate fun way to display some of the items available. Creativity is something that comes to life when a package of boxes shows up on a doorstep.

With simple d├ęcor, these boxes can be re-cycled, re-used, and used over and over!

These awesome boxes provided a lot of opportunity for Lisa and her store, just imagine the fun kids will have with the items in these boxes and the memories that will be made. All of this, out of this!

If you are seriously looking for a fun project, consider ordering your boxes from Extra Space Storage. From organizing to displaying items, you will be glad you opted to invest. These are strong, sturdy boxes that would work fantastic for someone moving or looking to relocate a few items in their home.

On another note... stay tuned! We've got a train out of cardboard coming your way... We can't wait to share our completed project with you in the near future. A special thank you to Extra Space Storage for providing cardboard, tape, and supplies to complete this fun, creative task! After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?

The Offers A Nice Solution For A Cover For Your Smart Phone

OK~ I'm really loving my Samsung Galaxy S4 Smart Phone, as it keeps me connected while at home and on the go. I had tried a couple cases along the way, but had not found one that met my needs. I found a really nice black case online at TheSnugg.

This case arrived the other day and I was so pleased, as it just snapped right on. It literally snapped right onto my phone and I was immediately reassured with the added protection that this case offered. The other cool feature? It did not effect my ability to take photos in any type of lights. I now know that the back of my phone does not risk added scratches or dings. After all, my middle name is not Grace!

The other cool feature? It did not effect my ability to take photos in any type of lights. I was so happy to have found a case that does not find its way into my photos- this case rocks!

The phone itself is very thin. I was very pleased that this is advertised as a thin case and it is thin. It's also easy to hold, and it still fits in the case that I store it in while transporting it in my purse.

If you have never ordered anything from TheSnugg, you may be leary as to the promptness of service. Within four business days my case arrived- in one piece and ready to use! In fact, I ordered a new case for my iPad2 as well. Just in time for Blog Conferences! I know my smartphone and my iPad2 will be protected while in use.

Take a tour through TheSnugg, you will be pleasantly surprised by the large selection of covers for virtually any gadget that you may have in your stash. From iPads to Kindles and Smart Phones, TheSnugg has you covered! (Literally)

To stay in the loop on up to date information on cases for all of your technology items, be sure to follow TheSnugg on Twitter and Facebook.

*I ordered my case from TheSnugg. The opinions expressed here are mine and nobody else's. I did not receive any monetary compensation for this post.

Microsoft Scammers Are Working Hard To Get Your Information: Do Not Fall Into This Trap

OK~ We all hear about all of those scams and hoaxes that we all should not take part in, right? Just the other day I learned that some family members of mine had fallen for the ever so famous Microsoft phone call. I cannot stress this to any of you enough- Microsoft does not call you, you call them! These scammers today make everything seem real and can really "pull" you in fast. Teens, young adults, and retired folks are easy targets for these scammers. In fact, anyone, any age could easily fall for this scam.

I guess I kind of get in a zone and figure that people surely know not to give out computer and bank information to a total stranger that has called them. Now, this would be a different story if you, the customer, are calling a business for help. But, this Microsoft scam is one that needs to be heard.

My friend, Pat Palmer, of The Computer Guy, recently received one of these phone calls. He recorded his conversation with these scammers. Take a listen, this is how these scammers work.

Share this message with family members and friends. Thankfully my family members did not pay any money to the scammers that called them; but I think you can hear how easy it is to fall for this scam. These folks are good!

I love Social Media and the fact that we can stay connected. What I don't like, is the fact that these people are smart people that have waaaaaayyyyy too much time on their hands. And it's clear that these folks are not Americans, as their English and phone connection is rather choppy. My thoughts are that through Social Media, we can help shut these folks down. Spread the word friends. Had my family members seen a video like this, I have a feeling they would not have fallen for this scam.

This is another great example of why kids under 13 should not have social media accounts. A young teen often puts their cell phone number right on their about section and welcomes any phone calls from anyone! The other scary thing, many kids lie about their age- so the doorway is open for many of these scammers. If you are a parent and not connected with your kids on their social media channels, I'd suggest you start connecting today!

Have you or someone you know gotten one of these calls? I'd love to hear how it was handled. I hope you and your family are not their next target. By being informed, you can hopefully stay out of this mess. After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?

Commitment In The Year 2013- Does This Still Exist?

OK~ I've been thinking a lot about the word commitment today. When you say you will do something, do you try your darndest to make sure you follow through? In a perfect world, others would not have to step up when others have failed to fulfill their commitments.

It's no secret that our kids learn by example, therefore; when parents cannot follow through it's a recipe for disaster. If I have been asked to participate in something through the years and have been unable to fulfill my commitment; I will find someone to step up for me so that the organizers can move forward with their event. At the very least, I let the organizers know that an emergency has came up and I will be unable to help. Yes, one year ago a family emergency did arise and I was unable to fulfill my commitment to our son's high school trapshooting team's fundrasier. I alerted the coaches and much to my surprise others stepped up rather quickly to fill my space. My son and husband fulfilled their obligation while I set in hospital waiting room with my Dad on full life support. Looking back, I needed to be where I was and my son and husband needed to be where they were. We had to make some family choices. Life goes on and as a family we stepped it up to fulfill our commitment to the team. We also managed to show our son the importance of sticking with the team!

Sooooo... I shake my head! Just recently I learned of a woman who had made a commitment to an event where she was one of the speakers on the agenda. This woman had no intentions of fulfilling her obligation and never tried to let the organizer know. The organizer contacted her to find out if things were going well and when she would be arriving to the event. The woman backed out of the event and never had any intention of fulfilling her obligation. Do you see where I am going with this?

What is wrong with our society? Are we lazy and sold our conscience to higher beings? This Mom really doesn't get it. Our kids are struggling with so many things today and many parents don't want to step things up a notch to be involved in the lives of their kids.

Are you fulfilling your commitments or letting them slide? I'm trying really, really hard to meet all of mine. Now, this 40 something "memory" may get in the way at times, but I'm getting better at trying to get things into the calendar on my phone so I am not one lost walking memory!

With a new school year here, parents, will you make a conscientious effort to fulfill your commitments in 2013? Trust me, your kids will thank you! Your kids will be wiser, stronger (mentally and physically) and healthier all the way around. After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?
