OK~ There's something to be said about having to move the clocks ahead an hour. Morning is pretty dark but I absolutely love the fact that the sky was still red in the West last evening around 7:45 p.m..
Spring is maybe here. I will stress the word maybe, as we still have the month of March ahead of us. In Iowa, March is typically our snowiest month. You know what? My heart will not be broken if we do not see a single snow flake this whole month.
I would love for the snow banks to disappear and for the grass to grow. It's hard to believe that just two days I ago I slipped and fell on the ice. Yes, it was 60 degrees on that day, yet I somehow managed to find a chunk of ice. The snow is melting and the yard is beginning to take shape. In a good month's time, the farmers should be hitting the fields preparing for a new crop.
I am still waiting to see that first robin on my doorstep. Not sure when the robins will arrive with a couple blue jays hanging out on a regular basis. I will patiently wait for the day I look out my kitchen window to see a yard full of robins. Now that, my friends is a sight that I look forward to every single Spring.
I'm not gonna paint a picture that doesn't exist, Winter was tough. It was cold, dark and it was dreary. I personally lost several friends to cancer and/or car accidents which made Winter seem to drag on and on. I am praying that Springtime brings a new sense of life and hope that seemed to have faded away this past Winter.
I will scream with delight when our apple trees bud and then when that first lilac appears, I will be filled with happiness! Those lilacs always bring a sense of calm over me. Spring time I am coming for you and embracing it all. After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?
