When People Of All Ages Work Together Something Magical Happens- Seriously, It Does!

OK~There's something to be said about organizations that involve people of all ages. It is true that here in North Iowa we have a wonderful group of bloggers that support each other day in and day out. I often joke that, "We get along better than the ladies in the church kitchen." Honestly, we do!

The North Iowa Bloggers are men and women in their 20's, 30's ,40's, 50's, and 60's. I'm sure hoping we find a blogger in their 70's to join us soon, as that would give us another age group. We all have our own writing styles, voices, yet we all love to write and share through social media. We work on projects together and we also each do our "own" thing. I truly believe that when a mix of people are tossed together with a common interest something special blooms.

Just a couple nights ago I was at the local gun club with our 20 year old son and my husband. They were shooting clay targets on their team for the season. I looked around and you know what? The cool thing about the gun club was the fact that there were youth, parents, grandparents, which meant people of all ages all around. If you have never set food at a gun club, you would not understand how genuine and friendly the people are that frequent the club.

I found myself comparing the gun club to our North Iowa Bloggers group. Both groups of people included people of all ages and people were having fun and getting along. Maybe it's just an Iowa thing, but you know what? I think it's pretty cool that I could find two groups of people right here in North Iowa making a difference in the lives of many. Our son has met many people, that are many years older than him, at the gun club and he calls them friends. They lend an ear when needed and they are there to support each other.

I am sure there are many other groups in North Iowa and all around the country that offer friendships and a support system just like my family and I have found in North Iowa. If you are not finding something like this where you call home. I challenge you to be that person- start a club that involves something you are passionate about and take it and run with it. I know you will be pleasantly surprised at the friendships and blessings you will receive along the way. After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?

  3. I love this post because it is so true. Age certainly does not matter one bit when it comes to sharing a love of something you are passionate about.
