Life is short and it's reason to get out and enjoy every single day. I truly believe that you may be surprised as to where life can take you, when you let got of the hatred. I've pondered some thoughts this morning as to how you and I can both be a little kinder in our noisy world.
Do you know someone that is going through a tough time in their personal lives? Listen to them. They may need someone to pay attention to them and believe in them. If you go on and on and ramble about YOU, you will not help them. We all need to turn up our listening skills a notch or two. This, my friends, is a simple way to show kindness.
MAIL A CARD
Now that we have social media, it's easy to forget to actually hand write a note on a beautiful card. When is the last time you sent someone an actual card through the mail? And, in case you did not know, the price of stamps recently went down. A simple note in the mail can make someone's day in a way you never imagined.
A sincere compliment is worth its weight in gold. When is the last time you complimented someone on something that you noticed was amazing? Try it.... give someone sincere compliment and the warm, fuzzy feeling you get will be your reward.
Kindness should not be hard, but dang, it sure seems to be. When I focus on the not so kind activity in my corner of North Iowa, it's not pretty here either. No area of our country is immune to people not being nice to one another. In our culture today, it's no longer acceptable to agree to disagree. If only life could be simple and fun!
I don't know about you, but my life just got a little nicer, more fun and exciting! This is another reminder that there will be no grass growing under my feet, as I live my life and find a new adventure around every corner in my world of travel. In my opinion, when you find your balance between social media and real life conversations; life gets pretty fun!
By listening, mailing a card and complimenting someone, adults set examples for our kids to follow. So, tell me. How will you be stepping up your game when it comes to showing kindness to one another? After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?
