Disclosure: As part of the Better Moments Blogger Brigade Program, I did receive compensation for this post. The opinions here are mine and nobody else's. I have been a U.S. Cellular customer for 20+ years. In fact, I have never been with another cell phone company.
OK~ The holiday season is upon us and it's time to be smarter on how we use our smart phones. Families need to familiarize themselves with U.S. Cellular's Parent/Child Agreement. Remember that the conversation begins offline before the online conversations happen with your children.
If you are going to be one of the record number of travelers over the upcoming holiday season, you will want to make note of the holiday hacks we have put together for you. It's no secret that more families are traveling with a smart phone in tow. Smart phone users are more apt to use mobile devices than ever before. According to a recent survey, 76 percent of people used their phone while traveling in 2015, up from 68 percent the previous year. With a little bit of awareness, you can put your smart phone to work for you.
TAKE A SCREENSHOT OF DIRECTIONS
This is a useful tip for travel at anytime. Another important tip, once you have saved the directions, you can turn off your phone's navigation and location services while traveling through populated areas in order to conserve the battery.
CAPTURE A PHOTO OF WHERE YOUR CAR IS PARKED
This is seriously one of my all time favorite hacks. How many times have you visited your local shopping mall and came out to that lost look on your face? Snap a photo of your parked car and a landmark nearby, this will save you time and embarrassment. Trust me, as I speak from experience on this. My Samsung Galaxy S7 has saved me from being the lost lady in the parking lot.
CHARGE YOUR PHONE ON AIRPLANE MODE
As our schedules get busier, we tend to go longer between charges. Using airplane mode helps your device regain battery strength by eliminating apps and/or services that are running in the background.
USE LOCATION BASED REMINDERS
It's easy to forget a stop when juggling multiple errands. To make party planning more efficient, set location-based reminders either through the Reminders feature on iOS or Google Keep on Android. Set a notification to sound when you're near a specific destination. This way you won't forget to swing by your local bakery to pick up your dessert for your party. Let's face it, it's not fun to remember that you forgot to pick up a dessert after the baker has closed for the day.
Utilize your smart phone this holiday season. These simple holiday hacks can make your life less stressful this holiday season. Embrace the sounds and sights of the season. Make your holiday a stress free season! After All, It's All In a Mom's Day, Right?
